Formal recruitment for sororities to begin this week

Formal recruitment, also called “rush,” begins this weekend for the 12 sororities at CSU, and the search is on for the one that best suits prospective members.

Formal recruitment is an event every semester that allows prospective members to get to know each other before specific sororities decide which students are the best fit for membership.

“It’s a really great opportunity,” said Lydia Mcgugan, member of the recruitment team. “I suggest everyone goes through it.”

All 12 of the sororities are participating in formal recruitment.

Schedule for the recruitment process:

  • 9 a.m. to 7 p.m Saturday, Sept. 24: Values and Membership Day
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25: House Tours and Philanthropy Day
  • 4:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26: Preference Night
  • 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27: Bid Day Celebration

Alpha Delta Chi

Alpha Delta Chi sorority is a Christain sorority that focuses on serving others and encouraging fellowship among the members as they grow and strengthen their lives as Christians. According to their website, the purpose of this sorority is, “to provide fellowship for Christian college women, to strengthen the spiritual lives of its members, and to be a testimony for Christ on each campus.”

Alpha Phi Gamma

Alpha Phi Gamma sorority promotes sisterhood across all cultural backgrounds and nationalities. The sorority aims to raise and promote awareness of the Asian culture to the community. According to their website, the organization serves to promote academic success and focuses on personal development and as well as leadership. Their website is and recruitment started the week of Sept. 12.

Alpha Sigma Kappa

Alpha Sigma Kappa sorority recruits students who are committed to their academic goals. The organization tries to promote members through their academic fields through the support of friendship and leadership, according to their website.
