With the passing of Amendment 64, Colorado has become one of few places to be able to legally celebrate 4/20. From smoke shop deals to barbecues and more, Fort Collins offers a lot to choose from for this year’s 4/20.
In an email to the Collegian, the manager of One Love Smoke Shop, Ellie Ottoson, wrote that the shop has different sales going on all day. From 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., all glass and smoking accessories are buy one, get one for $4.20. Then from 12 – 5 p.m., all glass and smoking accessories are buy one, get one from $20. From 5 p.m. to close, all glass and smoking accessories are buy one, get one half off. Everything else in the store is 10 percent off, except for the mystery bags.

Cheba Hut sandwich shop is offering food and beer specials and much more from open to close.
“All day, from around 10 – 12 a.m., we will be doing a 4-inch sandwich, chips and a drink for $4.20, and a 4-inch sandwich and a beer for $7.10,” said Owen McCarthy, manager of the Cheba Hut on Laurel Street. “Also, along with giveaways and contests, we will be raffling off some customized Cheba Hut bikes, pipes from Kind Creations and Highlander, gift cards and more.”
Along with their big sale from 12 – 4 p.m., where everything will be buy one, get one for $4.20, Kind Creations is hosting a BBQ with burgers and hot dogs from lunch time until late afternoon.
For students at CSU, Colorado has been a memorable place to celebrate 4/20.
“The Snoop Dog and Wiz Khalifa concert I went to my senior year is my most memorable 4/20,” journalism major Josh Griesemer said. “It was on 4/20 and those are two of the biggest stoners in the world. It was at Red Rocks and if you were 50 rows up, you couldn’t see the stage because everyone was lighting up. If you were just to breathe in the air, you would get high. It was a good time time.”
