Fort Collins Police investigate Sept. 25 sexual assault and robbery

On Sept. 25, Fort Collins police began an investigation on a reported robbery, which has now turned into a sexual assault investigation, according to a press release.

A 19-year-old female victim initially reported a male acquaintance stealing several of her items, including her purse, after she was left at the 1100 block of North Shields St. The next day, she contacted the police and further reported that the male had sexually assaulted her before taking her items.

On Sept. 27, 32-year-old Dustin Travis Harmon was arrested in his home on probable cause and was transported and booked into the Larimer County Detention Center for sexual assault and robbery.

Anyone with information about the crime are asked to contact Fort Collins Police Detective Bob Brown at 970-416-2680 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868.

Crime Stoppers is an anonymous website for crime reporting, where citizens can be eligible for a cash reward.
