Fort Collins police are investigating a shooting that took place Thursday afternoon in the 6300 block of Thompson Drive, leaving two people dead.

Police arrived at the scene after an informant reported her husband shot a family member and then himself. Police confirmed the two males deceased. The identify of the deceased and official causes of death will be released by the Larimer County Coroner.

According to a police press release, the investigation is ongoing, but there is no risk to the community.
