Suspicious fires set along South College Avenue

Excitement radiated on the corner of Laurel and College this Tuesday afternoon as the streets filled with firetrucks responding to the fire at Chipotle.

Early Sunday, approximately 6 a.m., Poudre Fire Authority responded to a series of suspicious fires along South College Avenue. Several small fires were set in landscaping materials near commercial structures between Drake and Monroe. No significant damaged occurred due to the swift response of fire units in the area, but the damages estimated a total of $5,000.

Fire investigators are working closely with detectives from Fort Collins Police Services to identify person(s) responsible.

PFA and FCPS investigators are still working to determine the origin and cause. These fires are considered suspicious.
