Loveland police officer shot during traffic stop

A Loveland police officer was shot during a traffic stop on March 2nd and is currently in critical condition at a local hospital, according to a Larimer county press release.

At approximately 7:48 p.m. on March 2nd, the officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 17th street and North Wilson avenue in Loveland. The officer called over his radio and reported that shots had been fired. Officers who responded to this call found that the officer had been shot on scene.

The suspect(s) are currently being pursued, and no arrests have been made. The Board of Directors for Larimer Crime Stoppers urges anyone who may have information about the shooting to call the tip-line at 970-221-6868.

In light of the seriousness of the crime, the board has upped the reward for anonymous tips from $1,000 to $5,000.
