UPDATE: Sexual assault on Colorado State campus Friday morning

Update 9:30 a.m.

At approximately 12:15 a.m. Fort Collins police were notified of a sexual assault adjacent to campus. The victim, a 22-year-old CSU student, was driving westbound on W. Lake St. when an unknown male waived her down, according to a Fort Collins Police Department (FCPD) press release. The suspect approached the driver’s side of her vehicle and, armed with a knife, physically removed her from the vehicle.

“The male pulled her to the side of the road near the railroad trakcs and sexually assaulted her,” FCPD stated in the release. “During the struggle the victim bit the suspect’s left shoulder and scratched his forearms. The victim was not injured and did not require medical attention.”

The victim was able to fight the subject off and he ran eastbound from the area. The suspect is described as an African American male, early 20s, 5’9” to 5’11” with acne on his face, average to muscular build, with short black curley hair.

CSU police responded to an assault near the same area of campus on Oct. 24. Suspect descriptions are different but FCPD is working with CSUPD to see if the cases are connected.

An alleged sexual assault was attempted on Colorado State campus near Lake St. and the railroad tracks at 12:20 a.m. The suspect is armed with a knife.

The victim reported that the suspect is a black male who was wearing a white tshirt and jeans. He was about 6 feet tall, muscular and in his 20s.
