Suspect Justin Smaxwill arrested on numerous felony charges

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested Justin Ray Smaxwill on numerous felony and misdemeanor charges, according to a press release.

Smaxwill was arrested early this morning for 2nd Degree Burglary, four counts of Identity Theft, 1st Degree Criminal Trespass, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Theft, False Report to Authorities, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Compulsory Insurance Violation, Careless Driving, Driver’s License Violation and Defective Tail Lamps.

A traffic stop of Smaxwill was conducted this morning South of Taft Hill Road for defective tail lamps as well as careless driving. There it was determined that Smaxwill’s driver’s license was under restraint and he had no proof of vehicle insurance.

A number of belived to be stolen items, including a computer monitor and stolen credit card, as well as drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Methamphetamine was found in Smaxwill’s shoe upon arrest.

Smaxwill reported  that his home had been burgalarized and items stolen, but upon investigation the report proved to be false.

Mr. Smaxwill is being held at the Larimer County Jail pending bond.  Additional charges are pending further investigation.
