The cyclist was riding north on Shields Street in the bicycle lane.  At Harmony Road, the cyclist entered the intersection with a green light.  The cyclist rode from the bicycle lane across all northbound lanes of Shields Street in an attempt to continue west on Harmony Road.  As the cyclist entered the southbound lanes of Shields Street, she collided with a 2001 Saturn sedan traveling south in the inside lane.  Southbound traffic on Shields Street also had a green light.

Sam Rodloff, the 23 year-old driver of the sedan, was not injured according to the press release. Alcohol and/or excessive speed are not believed to have been a factor in the collision.

Anyone with information about the collision who has not already given a statement to police is asked to call Officer Drew Jurkofsky at (970) 221-6555.
