A Colorado State University atheist professor and visiting theist professor will debate the relationship between science and faith Friday. The debate will be held in the Main Ballroom in the Lory Student Center at 7 p.m.
CSU’s Bernard Rollin, a professor of philosophy and animal sciences, will speak from an atheist perspective. His research focuses on animal rights and animal consciousness. He is the University’s bioethicist.
Guest speaker Ian Hutchinson, debating from a Christian worldview, is a plasma physicist and professor of nuclear science and engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The debate is hosted by the Veritas Forum, an organization that holds similar debates on college campuses throughout the country. At CSU, it is sponsored by Cru, InterVarsity, Alpha Gamma Omega fraternity, Christian Challenge and Chi Alpha.
