The first annual remembrance ceremony for the Colorado State University community will take place Thursday in recognition of CSU students, faculty and staff who have died this year. The 15 minute ceremony begins at the north steps of the Administration Building at 4:45 p.m.
“We wanted to provide an opportunity — particularly for those parts of our campus that have been deeply impacted by losses this year — to gather and remember, either individually or together,” CSU President Tony Frank wrote in an email to campus.

A reading of names will be followed by a chance for silent reflection, along with a candlelight walk through the Oval which will conclude at the non-denomination Danforth Chapel.
Participants are welcome to reflect in the chapel, which will remain open until 6 p.m. Participation for this community gathering is voluntary, and candles will be provided.
“The history of our campus is the history of its people — and it’s important we take the time to recognize those we remember and miss,” Frank wrote.
