Changing cannabis culture: Fort Collins’ first dispensary, Choice Organics, talks evolution of recreational weed

Out of the dozens of dispensaries in Larimer County, one of the first ones opened has remained relevant since the legalization of recreational cannabis in 2014. Aside from being able to say they are one of the first recreational dispensaries in the nation, Choice Organics commits themselves to creating safe and quality products and keeping up with changing trends.
WGACs lettering is accompanied with art that welcomes student outside of their office in the LSC next to the LGBT office.

New exhibit to show stories of interpersonal abuse survivors through art

The project aims to create a space for the survivors to tell their story in a way that they choose. Viewers of the gallery will see photographs and written pieces by the survivors, a way to promote healing through art and storytelling while reducing stigmas about this type of abuse.

Poudre Pour to encourage water education with beer

Good water equals good beer. Local brewers live by this statement and it is also something Fort Collins residents can get in on during the Poudre Pour event on March 31, 2018. This event showcases a vital ingredient in all Fort Collins beer; water from the beloved Poudre river.

Wolverine Farms breathes new life into letter-pressing

Have you ever come across a business whose creative can’t be categorized? You may find such a place on Willow Street, the Wolverine Farm Letterpress and Publick House, a name unique from others. “People come to the Letterpress and Publick House for it's warm, inviting atmosphere and all of the events we offer,” said Beth Kopp, the operations manager. “Everything from spelling bees to chicken contests, craft markets to tarot clubs. Or you can just drink coffee or beer and hang out.”

From shutting down a student-ran Playboy Club to making landmark Title IX policies, the women of CSU certainly have something to add to Women’s History Month. A dig into the archives and special collections showed a plethora of women and events that helped with gender equality at CSU.

Fort Collins community members took advantage of an opportunity to change their perspective about disability Friday night. Many filmmakers came together to document the lives of people with disability.

Loveland snow sculptors compete at national competition

Colorado Team Three was determined to find a winning place at the competition with their idea entitled “Peace Within,” a sculpture featuring a tree base with a giant heart and detailed birds flying all around it. Competitors had two days to build the starting snow block and then just three days to turn it into something extraordinary at the US National Snow Sculpting Competition.

Sue McNallys Maroon Bells, Colorado piece hangs in the Fort Collins Museum of Art. The piece is part of a selection of McNallys This Land is My Land show, which focuses on landscapes in the Western United States. Rhode Island-based painter Sue McNally  has been working on illustrating American landscapes in her new installation, “This Land is My Land.” Along with McNally’s is another exhibit in the hallway of the Fort Collins Museum of Art entitled “From the Heart:Land”.
Heaven is a Traffic Jam on the 405 follows artist Mindy Alper on expressing her mental illness through drawing and sculpting. She tells a narrative of her childhood, the medications she takes, and the people who have helped her along the way. (Courtesy of ShortsTV)
