How will you be spending the last weeks of this semester? The LSC has a ton of cool events to not only spend some of your free time but also a time to learn something new. Here are a few of my favorites to share with you but stay on the lookout for everything that’s happening in the LSC.
Enslaved: A Modern-Day Slavery Experience THURSDAY, APRIL 2nd & 3rd, 2015, 10AM – 4PM
Modern day slavery is one of the most lucrative and horrific issues that our planet is currently facing. There are more slaves now than at any point in time, half of which are children. Enslaved is in its third year at CSU and is an event hosted by No More Injustice, a student organization at Colorado State University. It is a modern-day slavery simulation which aims to bring awareness to the injustice of human trafficking. Participants will walk through the simulation rooms and may experience what it is like to be in the shoes of a modern day slave, as well as witness the helplessness and isolation that many trafficked people may feel. The event is free and will be hosted in the Lory Student Center April 2nd and 3rd from 10am to 4 pm. Due to the graphic nature of the event, only individuals who are 16+ will be permitted to attend.
