Ah, it’s good to be back. Finals are FINALLY over, and I’m back home in Littleton for a much deserved month long break. With studying eating up all my time, all I’ve read recently is a Biology textbook, which I assume no one is interested in reading about. So instead, I’ll be using today’s post to fill you in on the books I plan to read during break. Brace yourselves, it’s a beefy list.
1) Graceling by Kristin Cashore
2) Fire by Kristin Cashore
3) Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore
4) Hard Times by Charles Dickens
5) Mr. Darcy Takes A Wife by Linda Berdoll
6) The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
Books 2-4 were given to me by good friends, whose opinions of the written word I trust fully. (One of which is an English major who reminds me more of a dictionary than of a college freshman.) The last two I purchased today while out thrift shopping with my mother. Paperback books for only 99 cents! Sorry Barnes and Noble, but that price can’t be beat.
I read Pride and Prejudice not too long ago, and am looking forward to reading the continuation of Elizabeth’s story. The book I am looking most forward to, though, is The Other Boleyn Girl. I’ve not seen the movie, thank goodness. Something truly irks me about watching a movie before reading the novel upon which it was based.
As it stands, I will have to read a book and a half each week in order to read all the books on my list. Wish me luck!
Happy holidays everyone,
