The City of Fort Collins Police Services will be hosting a “Keep Kids Safe on the Internet!” presentation Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Police Services Community Room located at 2221 S. Timberline Road.
The presentation is intended to “increase awareness and provide tools to keep everyone safe from the dangers of the Internet,” according to the event listing.
According to the listing, one in five children suffer unwanted sexual solicitation, but only 25 percent of those children inform trusted adults.
The presentation will cover sexual predators, online enticement and grooming, social networking websites, cyberbullying and messaging in the form of email, instant messaging and sexting.
Another “Keep Kids Safe on the Internet!” presentation will be held at the same time on Dec. 2.
