A Fort Collins police officer was arrested and charged with stalking, 1st degree criminal trespass and official misconduct Tuesday and was terminated from the police department.
The arrest followed a week-long criminal investigation into Officer Jarett Branson’s behavior after a female citizen reported his misconduct to police Sept. 9.
The female alleged that Branson used police resources to discover her work and home locations and contacted her multiple times at both. The police department determined that her allegations were of a serious nature and launched an investigation into Branson’s behavior.
The investigation determined that probable cause existed, so the District Attorney accepted the charges on Branson Tuesday and Branson was arrested and taken to the Larimer County Detention Center.
Anyone with additional information about the officer or the incidents involved is encouraged to call Fort Collins Police Services Internal Affairs at (970) 221-6831.
