CSU has hired a lead construction contractor for the on-campus stadium project, according to a press release on Thursday.
To choose the contractor, architects, representatives from CSU staff and the project management firm were assembled in a review panel. The panel reviewed seven construction firms before landing on Mortenson Construction as the best choice. According to the release, this decision was due to the superior qualifications, experience, and proposed costs of Mortenson Construction.
The stadium is now in schematic design phase, and will continue to move toward design development within the year. When the stadium moves into design development and review, CSU will involve the public and allow them to engage in the process.
If the stadium is approved by the CSU Board of Governors and receives enough funding, the university can have the contractor perform construction services.
