GLO gifts routers and other ICT solutions to exceptional students at OAU

In addition to this, the ICT department was also gifted routers to enhance academic development using technology. Globacom praised Huawei brand’s efforts for partnering with them to conduct the initiative, which is targeting critical stakeholders and youths. He added on and clarified that the company is specializing with students who are currently in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The manager disclosed that GLO’s activities in many tertiary institutions were second to none as the company’s 4G superfast network was making communication easier for subscribers. He noted that this initiative was going to inspire some high flyers to sustain their excellence drive towards achieving top grades in their respective courses.

Mr Bidemi added on and praised the company’s undersea cable for contributing to their fast 4G speeds.

“Without a doubt, Globacom is the superior network with our undersea cable, Glo 1, as the backbone for our inimitable nationwide 4G coverage, while our products are designed to provide solutions to all communication-related needs of our subscribers,” he said.

Professor I.O Aransi, the Dean of Student Affairs in the university, received the gifts on behalf of the institution. He commended the company for its outstanding commitment to empowering Nigerian youth through most of its interventions over time. The professor encouraged all the students to emulate the beneficiaries by giving all their attention to studies.

Ume Don-Pedrom, a Pharmacy student who had an aggregate of 4.91 points, expressed his appreciation to such a kind gesture from the top-notch telecommunication company. He also promised that they would continue putting more efforts so that they can be excellent ambassadors to the country while speaking on behalf of fellow student beneficiaries.

Other beneficiaries included Adedi Mubarak from the Material Science Department, Victoria Akinyemi of the Quantity Surveying Department, and Rita Esho from the Religious Studies Department.
