Despite possible confusion, Aggie Village Apartments are on schedule for students to move in for the academic school year.
“Everything we had slated for the fall semester will be open,” said Tonie Miyamoto, Communications co-ordinator for Housing and Dining Services.
Confusion about the apartment’s opening may have been related to the ‘alternate section’ that is being added on.
This section will not be completed by the beginning of the fall as according to the plan, Miyamoto said. The alternate section has not been leased to students.
Community Coordinators for Aggie Village may be staying in temporary apartments as they begin training. Students are able to move into Aggie Village anytime between August 6 and August 22.
Furniture and appliances are being moved into the apartments. Over 800 bike racks have been installed, and work on an underpass to ease congestion is underway in preparation for students’ arrival.
Four zip cars have also been slated for the New Aggie Village Apartments.
“We’re really excited to support sustainable transportation,” Miyamoto said.
