Rams Rock Crawling aims to provide an environment where students can learn concepts relating to design and operation of rock crawling and off-road vehicles. RRC also contains the Baja SAE competition team, which competes nationally to design and build an off-road vehicle. RRC uses the Baja competition as a case study to demonstrate and apply the rock crawling concepts the club has learned. Baja SAE consists of competitions that test students’ ability to design and build a vehicle that can survive rough terrain. Project challenges include design, manufacturing, business management, and more.
Last March, the club held a welding workshop off campus, at Spidertrax in Loveland. The students also toured the Spidertrax facility, where they specialize in the fabrication of off-road suspension and gear-train components.
