The “Super Bowl” is known for the best commercials, as it is the most viewed event on television in the United States. For “Super Bowl 50,” history was made with it being the third-most-watched broadcast in television, ever, with about 111.9 million viewers. For Colorado, this was an exciting event seeing as the Denver Broncos took home the world title as they stomped the Carolina Panthers.
Not only was “Super Bowl 50” a huge excitement for the Broncos, the commercials also made quiet the appearance. People everywhere barely left their seats — as a break came on, another great commercial was rolling. With 14 new brands featured, there were a variety of categories with some well-known brands and some we haven’t seen before.
Hyundai’s “First Date” with Kevin Hart also included comedy. Kevin Hart plays the father sending his daughter off on her date. He offers his own car to his daughter’s date, and the boy accepts. Because Hyundai has added a new tracking feature, Hart was able to follow his daughter around and make faces at the boy if he got too close. Hyundai couldn’t have picked a better actor to play the part.
Hyundai’s “Ryanville” also caught some attention with the attractive Ryan Reynolds. Two women star as Reynolds is portrayed everywhere, while the Hyundai demonstrates the ability to stop for pedestrians when the driver isn’t paying attention.
Mountain Dew’s “Puppy-monkey-baby” either gave the viewer nightmares or definitely stuck in their memory. Viewers were shocked as a walking “puppy-monkey-baby” comes dancing into the room carrying a Mountain Dew.
Bud Light’s “Bud Light Party” with Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen provided a sense of Americanism, noting that despite differences, the American dream can all agree on liberty and “a cold one.”
Budweiser featured their horses, while Coca-Cola partnered with Marvel for promotion of their new mini cans with Hulk and Ant-Man.
Audi’s “Commander” inspired us as the ex-Commander sits solemnly alone, then the son comes and takes father for a ride in the new Audi R8, with incredible power. The Commander suddenly feels more alive than ever before, and viewers everywhere experienced the beautiful scenery and felt the power of the car.
With 48 advertisers in the 2016 “Super Bowl 50” commercial lineup, many stood out among the rest. As brands continue to pay the big bucks for a spot in television commercial fame, viewers determine the success.
