A recent study tested the health effects of marijuana at various potencies. According to CBS Seattle, users smoking high-potency marijuana are at a higher risk of developing brain damage.
“What we can say is if it’s high potency, and if you smoke frequently, your brain is different from the brain of someone who smokes normal cannabis, and from someone who doesn’t smoke cannabis at all,” said Paola Dazzan, co-author of the study.
The study included magnetic resonance imaging of several subjects, showing more severe impairment in those who smoked strains with a higher percentage of THC.
