Over the past few weeks dispensary owners have been waiting for the Alaska Marijuana Control Board to make a decision on the new proposed marijuana policy. The policy would allow customers to use cannabis products at retail marijuana shops.
According to Alaska Dispatch News, the board approved the new measure, 3-2. Now all these businesses need is a signature from Lt. Gov. Byron Mallott to obtain their permits.
Previously the board has taken a different stance on similar policies. Although Alaska is the fourth state to legalize recreational marijuana, they are the first to allow public smoking of any sort.
