An article in USA Today took an interesting standpoint on Oregon’s recent legalization of recreational weed. Trevor Hughes points out the lack of attention the state has received in comparison to Colorado or Washington.
According to the story, dispensaries in Oregon sold over $11 million in inventory during the first week of legal sales. This statistic was taken by the Oregon Retail Cannabis Association. Who also noted these numbers are much higher than the initial sales in Washington.
As more Americans support recreational marijuana, we are likely to see legal weed markets implemented in other states. Hughes also notes how the 2016 presidential election could affect the results of these movements.
