Marijuana activists in Arkansas hang their heads today after a proposal to legalize the cultivation, production, distribution and sale of cannabis was denied by Attorney General Leslie Rutledge. According to KTBS News, the amendment was denied Monday in an opinion release.
Rutledge claims that the proposed constitutional amendment contained “ambiguities in the text.” She also pointed out that Mary Berry, creator of the proposal, failed to edit simple grammar and spelling mistakes.
This is the second proposal that Berry has submitted to the state, both have been denied. To learn more about the legal marijuana movement in Arkansas, check out the full story.
