Colorado State University’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, Questioning and Allied Resource Center led an impromptu rally Friday afternoon in support of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, giving same-sex couples the right to marry. This decision overrides all state laws against same-sex marriage and mandates that same-sex couples may be wedded in any state.
“It’s amazing,” said Aaric Guerriero, director of CSU’s GLBTQ2A Association. “It’s long overdue. I think that this will provide millions of families a way to protect themselves.”
Supporters gathered at the rally from 3:30-4 p.m. and placed rainbow flags on the path to the center of the Oval and drew rainbow-inspired chalk designs on the concrete itself.
