Students will gather on the plaza Tuesday night to honor Nepali earthquake victims.
Organized by the Nepali Student Association, the candlelight vigil will begin at 7:30 p.m. Donations will also be collected for medical relief, according to organizer Simrik Neupame.
According to Neupame, about 5,000 people have died and a 10,000 people have lost their homes as a result of the earthquake.
“They’re sleeping outside in gardens and yards,” Neupame said. “We’re doing this candlelight to show our solidarity for these people — we’re praying for the ones who lost their lives and we’re praying for the ones who are suffering right now.”
