With yesterday’s launch of the new RamRide smartphone application, safe rides home for students are now a more reliable option.
RideRide and Mobile Knowledge have teamed up to create a mobile app that will allow students to get home safe while increasing efficiency for RamRide employees. The app will give patrons an easy way for requesting rides, assign rides automatically via location through Google Maps and significantly reduces wait time.
According to RamRide’s executive director Sara Williams, Mobile Knowledge’s sophisticated technology and expert advice has contributed to the success of the app’s development. Extensive research was preformed over spring break to allow full utilization upon students arrival back to school.
“We have been testing the app with Mobile Knowledge for over a year now and they have been super supportive,” Williams said.
Williams expects the app to increase the current 340 rides per night to 500 rides per night. RamRide dispatchers will also have the ability to send messages to the user which is expected to help with wait times and ride cancellations.
