Spring is the prime time for students to sign leases and weigh their options of where to go next year.
A new housing option, Lokal, is set to open August 2015. The Lokal Elevated College Living company was created by two CSU alumni who have personal experience struggling with off-campus living in Fort Collins. They chose to build their complex right off of Plum and Shields, so that students will be in close proximity to campus as well as local restaurants and businesses.
“It’s a boutique student housing project,” said Michael Jensen, co-owner of Lokal. “It is more than just four walls and a door. It’s more about the full on experience, the package, of what you get out of living here.”
Residents will be offered a bathroom for every bedroom, car service for day trips, NFL Sunday Ticket, security cameras and 24/7 maintenance service. The building will also contain a pizza shop and retail businesses.
Jensen and his business partner, Jake Taylor, have used their experiences living off campus to offer the programs that would be most beneficial for students.
“We’ll have the fastest internet around campus.” Taylor said. “Every bedroom and living room gets their own circuit, there will be no shared Wi-Fi.”
CSU sophomore Ashley Sperling is considering moving to Lokal.
“I currently live east of campus, so the location of Lokal would be a really nice change,” Sperling said.
The company will open the doors to their showroom early April. For more information, visit their website or give the office a call at 970-407-RAMS.
