Colorado State University’s Students for Holocaust Awareness, Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life and Chabad Jewish Student Organization are hosting the 18th annual Holocaust Awareness Week at CSU on Feb. 20 – Feb. 27.
Holocaust survivor Rabbi Nissen Mangel will the featured speaker Monday. Rabbi Mangel, scholar, author, speaker and philosopher, is the youngest child inmate of Auschwitz and four other concentration camps. After surviving death multiple times, Mangel immigrated to America to live a life devoted to the Jewish community. He will be sharing his stories at 7 p.m. in the Lory Student Center theatre.
There will be a movie night showing the 70th Anniversary of Auschwitz Liberation Tuesday, with a discussion to follow.
A memorial service for the victims of the holocaust will be held Friday in the LSC theatre lobby.
All holocaust awareness events are free and open to the public.
