Some people spend money on pot, some people spend money on cars; I spend money on designer handbags. I have the biggest weakness for designer handbags. I would cut off my left arm if it meant I could still own my handbags. There is something to be said about buying something that, if taken care of correctly, could last forever. But there is also something to be said for not breaking the bank and still getting what you want.
College entails using sneaky methods to cut costs. Whether you “borrow” someone else’s WiFi or put soda in your waterbottle at McDonalds, college students are cutting corners to save a few dollars. The great thing about this method is that it’s 100% legal.
Below are some handbags on DailyLook.com and that look exactly like a few designer handbags I’ve had my eyes on.
Starting as an “it” bag that everyone wanted, the Céline Luggage Tote has transitioned into what could become a timeless handbag. I couldn’t find an exact link to the bag because Céline doesn’t offer them all online. This is a tactic done on purpose to create mystery and exclusivity for the brand. The retail price for the purse costs around $3,100. On Ebay, the purse ranges from $1,500 to $4,000, depending on the condition, color, and size. Here on DailyLook, a black handbag that is nearly identical costs $74.99, and even comes with an adjustable shoulder strap.
The second handbag is a crossbody by Chloé for $795. I see the crossbody as more funtional for a college student because it isn’t too formal and looks effortless. The DailyLook look-alike online here, costs $49.99. It also has five colors to choose from including; wine, camel, charcoal, black, and navy.
Alexander Wang “Rocco” Duffle
For $925, the “Rocco” bottom studded duffle can be yours, or you could pay $49.99 here on DailyLook. Of all three bags, this one is my favorite look alike. It comes in black and that is my favorite version of it. The black faux leather looks real enough that no one would know it was a look alike unless they touched it.
Finding a look-alike bag instead of a counterfeit means holding integrity because you aren’t lying about what type of bag it is, but you are achieving the same look. A dupe for a designer handbag that may go out of style next season means you also got the look without the buyer’s remorse. The main differences between the real thing and a look-alike are the materials used and the craftsmanship. In the end, it just depends on what you are willing to pay for what you get.
