In a preliminary report released Thursday, the Larimer County Coroner confirmed that there were no signs of foul play in a student’s death at Westfall Hall. They could not release her cause of death, pending a toxicology analysis.
Police found the body of the freshman sociology major around 6 p.m. Wednesday after another student called in a welfare check to police.
Director of Residence Life Laura Giles sent an email to residents encouraging them to support each other and seek resources when needed.
“It is at times like this that we are reminded how important and impactful it is for our hall and our campus community to pull together,” Giles wrote. “Please take care of yourselves and reach out to receive the support you, your hall mates or your friends need.”

Colorado State University police have confirmed that there was an unattended death on the third floor of Westfall Hall Wednesday evening.
CSU police responded to Westfall Hall for a welfare check call slightly after 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to Senior Communications Coordinator Dell Rae Ciaravola.
At this time, police cannot confirm the identity of the deceased individual or whether the individual was a student.
CSUPD believes there is no reason for students or the campus community to fear for their safety.
