After a few construction delays, the new Dunkin’ Donuts in Fort Collins opened Tuesday and is offering free medium hot or iced coffee to customers between Oct. 28 and Nov. 6.
Dunkin’ Donuts is located at 2801 S. College Ave. and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
“I freaking love Dunkin’ Donuts,” said Sylvia Rogan, a equine science junior at Colorado State University. “I lived in Denver this summer and there was a Dunkin’ Donuts close to me, and I was so excited for Dunkin’ to come to Northern Colorado.”
Dunkin’ Donuts will host their grand opening celebration Nov. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., which includes a ribbon cutting ceremony, cup stacking competition, games, prizes, and food and beverage samples.
The cup stacking competition will include local non-profit organizations competing for a chance to win $1,000 for their charity. All charities involved in the competition will receive $100 for just participating.
According to a press release, the Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee group, Dawgs & Donuts, was co-founded by Doug Patterson and Cameron Stapleton. Patterson and Stapleton also plan to open more Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout Northern Colorado in the Loveland, Greeley, Windsor and Estes Park areas.
“We are looking forward to serving Fort Collins and are committed to being a part of the community at large,” Patterson stated in the press release. “We are very service-oriented professionals, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity and responsibility to serve the people of Fort Collins Dunkin’ Donuts’ wide range of high quality food and beverages.”
Melinda Hicks, a business major sophomore at CSU, is thrilled to have a Dunkin’ Donuts in Fort Collins and close to CSU’s campus.
“I’ve been counting down the days until the official opening,” Hicks said. “I’ll be coming here often with some friends to just chill and eat donuts.”
