Welcome back from the weekend! The weather on Monday will do its best to make the transition easy. Skies will be mostly clear throughout the day, and temperatures will be warmer than normal. Bring along a pair shorts and sunglasses for the afternoon.
The evening should be nice as well — 60s will stick around through about 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday will be very similar to Monday. Upper 70s and mostly sunny skies will rule.
A big change is on the way though. Below is a satellite map from Sunday evening. Notice the area of moisture that is circled off to the west of Mexico? That is Tropical Storm Simon, and it is projected to move onshore and continue northeast. Most models agree that the leftover moisture from this storm will move through Colorado later this week.
Although it will have long since lost tropical storm status, it will be packing a ton of moisture with it. Rain from the system should begin falling during the day Thursday. The heaviest rainfall is currently pegged through Thursday night and Friday morning. Up to an inch could fall. Showers are likely into Friday as well. All of this rain and cloud cover would significantly limit warming on Friday. I currently have the high at 52, but that could be even cooler.
This tropical moisture bears extra attention, and I will be blogging/tweeting about it throughout the next few days. Keep updated here and on twitter: @wx_harley.
Have a great Monday, rams!
