The Associated Students of Colorado State University Senate held their second session of the 2014-2015 academic school year Wednesday and passed a resolution to change the process for filing complaints against the CSU police department.
Resolution 4402 was proposed by ASCSU senator Jason Sydoriak, a senior political science major. The resolution will allow complaints to be filed on the police department website, rather than having to talk to another police officer.
“I know that if I had excessive force put on me by a police officer, the last thing I would want is to talk to another police officer,” Sydoriak said.
Sydoriak said that the CSU police department is open to the discussion of a new complaint system. There has not been a time frame set for when the new website would launch.
