Construction is a necessity for keeping campus up-to-date, safe and beautiful. But, we need more communication between the administration and the students about how to navigate all the construction around campus. While updates about the LSC have been frequent, the Eddy building adjustments have not been communicated well to students or the faculty who had to relocate as a result of construction. Students were promised Laurel Village would be completed by the beginning of school, but that promise was not fulfilled and construction noise still rings throughout the building.
The school should not forget who these improvements are for. Student fees pay for some of the construction projects on campus, and the administration needs to recognize that the inconvenience affects almost every CSU student’s experience on campus. There needs to be more communication between the administration and students, so students aren’t as surprised to find walkways barricaded and classes relocated when they return to campus.
