It’s all fun and games on a 21st birthday, until an officer is knocked to the ground and someone is in jail.
Late Tuesday evening at the Yeti Bar, located at Building 23 Old Town Square, Fort Collins Police Services responded to a disturbance. Rita Davis, Fort Collins police spokeswoman, told the Coloradoan that Juan Perez pushed a bouncer and was causing a scene. Perez then continued to “charge” an officer, knocking him to the ground.
The officer’s identity has not been released because of privacy concerns, but the officer did sustain a shoulder injury and received medical attention at a nearby hospital. The extent of his injuries and details about when he would return to duty were not immediately made available.
Perez was arrested on suspicion of second degree assault, harassment, resisting arrest and obstruction.
