Colorado State University’s Cameron Harrell finished the HealthONE Colorado Open in fifth place at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, bringing home top amateur honors.
Harrell posted a 72-hole score of 277 (-7), opening with a Round 1 score of 69, and continued with back-to-back 70s in Rounds 2 and 3. He finished the tournament with a 2-under par 69, finishing seven strokes away from winner Ian Davis.
The product of Colorado Springs was the top Coloradoan present on the leader board – one shot better than Luke Symons of Aurora, Colorado. In addition, Harrell finished four strokes ahead of the next amateur competitor, Cole Nygren from Longmont, Colorado, a junior next season at Cal Poly.
