As technology advances our tools become smaller and more efficient. This has become true for a skin-like polymer that is about as this as a temporary tattoo. The trick is that this new tool may be able to dispense medicine based on motion, according to Venture Beat.
“A skin-like polymer material was layered with stretchable, motion and temperature sensors, resistive RAM, microheaters and drugs to be delivered through the skin. One possible use case is on-the-spot delivery of medicine in response to muscle movement, such as for epilepsy or Parkinson’s disease,” the article reads.
In addition to dispensing medicine, the new technology may also be able to store data.
