Everyone knows how to watch a football game. However, not everyone knows how to celebrate one. With the Broncos in the Super Bowl for the first time since 1999, there is no reason not to go all out with festivities this year. Everyone wants to celebrate this Sunday, but how? Here are eight ways to spice up your Super Bowl celebrations this year:
Come Bearing Appetizers
If cooking is something you enjoy, bring an appetizer to the Super Bowl party that you’re attending. Everyone loves finger food, and what’s a football game without something to munch on? Here is an appetizer that’s easy and can’t go wrong:
Chili Chip Dip
1 can Hormel Chili “No Beans”
1 8oz package cream cheese
Put ingredients into a small saucepan and heat slowly until cream cheese is melted. Serve with Fritos or corn chips.
Hit the Bars
Celebrating the 2014 Super Bowl at a bar is festive and lively. Football fanatics from all over Fort Collins will come to enjoy good beer and the most watched football game of the year at Old Town’s sports bars this Sunday. Grab a group of friends and celebrate in Old Town!
Wearing your Broncos jersey is not enough! In order to spice up your Super Bowl party experience for your guests, you need to decorate! Whether that means orange and blue streamers, party hats or balloons, ask some friends to help out and your house could turn into a Bronco fan’s dream.
Bet, Play and Entertain
Not a fan of Bruno Mars? You might not be the only one. During halftime, make some bets on the game or play a drinking game. Charades is always a good time with a big group of people, or you could even whip up a batch of brownies or cookies with some of your guests.
Dessert exchanges aren’t just for the holidays. In order to spice up a Super Bowl celebration, suggest that everyone bring a different dessert: cookies, brownies, bars, cakes, or even dessert cocktails. A celebration is nothing without sweets. This dessert cocktail is simple, delicious and blue:
1 part UV Blue
1 part raspberry sherbet
1 part lemon-lime soda
Dash of cream
Add all ingredients together over ice in a low ball glass and serve.
It may be cold, it may be snowing, or it may be windy this Sunday. Don’t let the weather get in the way of brats, hotdogs and hamburgers. Fort Collins Food Co-Operative at 250 E Mountain Ave. offers naturally local meats and groceries. Swing by and pick up Fort Collins fresh meat to grill for the game!
Who says face painting is only for our childhood years? Set up a face painting station at your house or at the Super Bowl party of your choice. You and your friends can enjoy decorating each other’s faces with orange and blue. Also, purchase Broncos stickers to decorate with as well!
What better way to celebrate anything than with a beer tasting! Invite guests to bring their favorite six-pack to share. As everyone munches on appetizers while the grill gets fired up for kickoff, enjoy tasting different beers and making bets on the game!
The Super Bowl is extra special this year, so make your celebration the same. Go Broncos!
