Campus wide access to the online training service, Lynda.com, has been discontinued. Students used the website to find tutorials in software and online applications like Photoshop and Final Cut Pro.
The University Technology Fee Advisory Board decided to discontinue funding to the tutorial website citing rapidly increasing subscription costs.
In a statement on the University’s website, the board reviewed usage statistics and decided that the expense could not be justified as valuable use of student dollars.
While the subscription is discontinued for now, the board says smaller scale licensing programs through Lynda.com are being investigated and will be discussed during the fall semester as an alternate to a campus wide subscription.
