DJ Krueger will come from Denver to play all of the latest hits and scary sounds. Besides dancing, there will be food, drinks and a create-your-own-murder-scene photo booth based on Hitchcock’s “Psycho.”
“The drink specials are out of this world,” Christine Kovacs Forster, owner of My Big Day and party planner, said. There will be a cash bar with drinks ranging from $2-$3.50, which includes top-shelf brands.
The theme for this year’s party is “Slash-back to the 80s.” Related to the theme, there will be a costume contest with four categories: best 80’s theme, scariest, best group costume and funniest. Past themes were “Voodoo at the Bayou,” “Insane Asylum,” “Biggest Fear” and others. Be sure to plan your costume ahead of time if you want to win.
The party used to be in Windsor, but they outgrew the house. This time around, the event takes place at a more central location for all Northern Colorado residents. Located at 1424 Mulberry St., the large venue fits 220 people seated with access to a 70 car parking lot.
Created in 2006, My Big Day evolved from Kovacs Forster’s love for planning events. “Whatever your big day is, weddings or bar mitzvahs or anything else, we’ll plan it,” said Kovacs Forster. They normally plan for companies, but they also do their own signature events year round, like this one.
Forster said, “It’s about people getting together and having fun.”
Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door. The doors close at 9 p.m. for entry. Go to http://www.mybigdaycompany.com/halloween-party-tickets.html to purchase tickets.
