Executive Director of the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund and co-founder of Democracy School, Thomas Linzey, will perform a guest lecture on Thursday June 23.
Linzey is a renowned environmental leader who appeared in Forbes Magazine’s “Top Ten Revolutionaries” list in 2007. His work has also been recognized by multiple acclaimed publications including The New York Times, Mother Jones and The Nation.
Linzey’s lecture, titled “Time for a Colorado Revolt: Elevating Community Rights Above Corporate Power,” will highlight communities around the United States that are utilizing their municipal governments as a means for confronting corporate control of fracking, factory farming, water bottling operations and fossil fuel pipelines. The lecture will also highlight the Colorado Community Rights Network’s efforts in working against oil and gas corporations.
Linzey’s lecture will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Behavioral Sciences Building Room A101 and is open to the CSU community.
