Known as the largest university drag show in Colorado, the CSU drag show has raised $2,000 for the Northern Colorado AIDS Project and has brought in 1,000 audience members in past semesters.
This year the show “20,000 Queers Under the Sea” will take place in the Lory Student Center Grand Ballroom on April 3. Doors open at 6 p.m., but the show starts at 7 p.m. Donations will continue to go toward NCAP.
This is the third year that Jessica L’Whor will direct the show.
“This is the show that started it all for me as a performer,” L’Whor said. “The CSU show should be a community, educational, safe, and inspiring experience for those that are part of the show and attending the show.”
Guests will include Darienne Lake, from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season six; Mrs. Kasha Davis, from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” season seven; Jiggly Caliente, from RuPaul’s Drag Race season four; and Pollo Del Mar, the Huffington Post’s Drag Queen of all Media.
“This show is a fabulous mix between a fashion show and a musical, that will inspire you to get up and dance,” said Delray Echohawk, co-drag show director. Spectatculer performances that make you think differently about gender expression, you will be sure to never have a dull moment in this show.”
