A local photography agency seeks to test new boundaries by bringing a “new creative force” into the picture.
Ranked as the top photographer in 2015 by ColoradoBiz magazine, PHOCO features a diversity of clientele ranging from major franchises — such as Southwest Airlines, HP and Otterbox — to local businesses, such Mantooth Marketing. PHOCO is available for individuals who are seeking high school senior portraits and wedding photos.
PHOCO has done work for Fort Collins bar Social. PHOCO has shot some of the bar’s major events, including their annual “Great Gatsby” themed party, according to the bar’s general manager Jen Beshore. PHOCO also created a promotional video featured on Social’s website.

PHOCO has also done several projects with the Colorado State University athletic department to help start up the Enterprise and Blue Ocean Challenges.
A collaboration of photographers, filmmakers, videographers and graphic designers, PHOCO works together as a team.
“Everything is awesome when you’re part of a team,” Edmiston said. “We also feel strongly that art is a collaborative process, and it’s by working together that we can bring out the best in one another.”
Displayed on their website is the quote, “Art is carried on the wings of this kinship.” Edmiston believes the quote sums up the collaborative attitude of PHOCO.
“We work with so many other photographers and artists in the area, and we just want everyone to be successful,” Edmiston said. “If you watched the Oscars … you see over and over that it takes a team of creatives to pull off the truly spectacular works of art.”
Beshore has observed the PHOCO team when they are shooting.
“They are always very detailed with lighting and setting up certain shots,” Beshore said. “They are really good at letting us know what they’re doing at the same time.”
PHOCO is currently in the process of building a giant studio space in downtown Fort Collins. They plan to shoot more original work this year including short films, documentaries and YouTube comedies. PHOCO is planning to expand current connections into working with some larger companies, including Anheuser Busch, Edmiston said.
Beshore describes PHOCO’s finished products as fantastic, hyper-detailed and creative.
“They really have a great quality of work,” Beshore said.
