If you don’t enjoy being scared half to death, Halloween can be a difficult holiday to enjoy. Luckily, there are filmmakers out there who understand this dilemma and provide the perfect solution. Here are five Halloween movies that won’t give you nightmares:
1. The Harry Potter series:
Halloween is a perfect excuse to have a Harry Potter marathon. This cult classic about witchcraft and wizardry will definitely inspire some Halloween spirit.
2. “The Nightmare Before Christmas”:
“This is Halloween! This is Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!” If this movie doesn’t bring back childhood memories, I don’t know what will. Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” will put you in the Halloween mood and allow you to relive some of your favorite moments from Halloween as a child. I recommend watching this one with a friend so that you are not singing alone.
3. “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”:
This is the original teenager crazed vampire film of our generation. “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” has the perfect amount of blood and guts for a non-scary Halloween movie. Plus, Kristy Swanson is a total badass in this film. If you want to watch a teenage girl stake some vampires, this movie is perfect for you.
4. “Shaun of the Dead”:
“Shaun of the Dead” was created for the sole purpose of entertaining viewers who were too afraid to watch “Dawn of the Dead.” It was made for people who can’t stomach true horror films, so take advantage of this zombie comedy.
5. “The Addams Family”:
Who wouldn’t love that Addams? They’re creepy and kooky! This is a Halloween comedy that everyone will enjoy. Just beware of the impending fact that the theme song will get stuck in your head.
