According to MarketWatch, One-Third of couples getting married are more than willing to go into debt for it. They believe that using credit or loans for payments is the only way to accomplish everything they want for the occasion.
They should however consider a few facts when it comes to busting the budget.
- nearly half (47%) of the people who go into debt and take out loans for the wedding end up regretting it
- Almost 30% of the people who owe money from their weddings, are still paying it off six years later
- the median price of a wedding (about $33,000) is almost the price of a down-payment on the average home
