After graduation, we all have different things we care about. There are different things we want to see change in the world and different things we want to keep in our lives. This, my friends and colleagues, is what I would like to encourage you all to find.
After graduating in May of 2012 from the CSU College of Business, I have found that some people will work their entire lives and just be content because they make the right amount of money or they are doing good for the rest of the world. While, yes, these things are important, finding what you are truly passionate about is key to living every day better. Jessi Cowan, Julie Iorio and I all graduated from the College of Business in May of 2012 and since then our lives have been moving in a forward progression. After graduation, we all went our separate ways and found different jobs doing we thought we were supposed to be doing. Jessi moved to Costa Rica for missions, Julie took over and managed a local salon and I started working in the financial industry.
Little did we know that our lives were about to take a different course. Julie and Joshua Ledbetter (a fellow University of Northern Colorado Nutrition graduate) started dating and he poured his passion for fitness and health into all of our lives. In January of 2013, Jessi started collaborating with Josh on ideas and Ledbetter, Inc. (Live Every Day Better Incorporated) became a reality.
Ledbetter Inc.’s vision is “to reshape society by providing the tools, educational resources and support to help members enhance the body, enrich the mind and strengthen the soul to Live Every Day Better.”
Jessi and Julie both graduated with concentrations in marketing so the concept soon became widespread on Instagram and before we knew it, the business had taken off. With my degree in management and concentration in entrepreneurship, I have been able to help build up the back side of the company setting things in place for not only our founders, but our employees. We started off selling nutrition and fitness plans created and designed by Josh and Jessi then when Julie came on board full time in August of 2013 we launched our LP3 Headband Collection (LP3 stands for the Ledbetter Project 3 – Body Mind and Soul). After the success of this, we wanted to expand our clothing line fusing fashion and fitness.
We recently launched our very first Kickstarter project. Essentially Kickstarter is a platform that allows companies to raise funds for creative projects. Our project is to launch the “Live Every Day Better” collection of apparel which includes eight new headband styles, one Rocky Mountain inspired snapback hat, and tri-blend tees and tanks for both men and women. In order to produce this new line of apparel we need to raise $25,000 in 50 days.
Our project is live on Kickstarter through Dec. 28 at 11:59 p.m. Every “backer” receives the very first round of product and other awesome rewards. To watch our Kickstarter video and learn more about our company, go to www.kickstarter.com and search “Ledbetter.” If it inspires you, would you share the video with your friends, family, email contacts and social media networks? We would greatly appreciate you helping us to spread the message of Ledbetter.
