What: International Migratory Bird Day
Where: Fort Collins Museum of Discovery
When: Saturday, May 11 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Spring is in the air — well, summer. We skipped spring this year. Anyway, the migratory birds are all coming back to Colorado, and what better way to celebrate that than the International Migratory Bird Day celebration at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery?
What: Autonomous Space
Where: GNU Gallery Experience, 109 Linden St.
When: Monday, May 13 through Wednesday, May 15, reception Wednesday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.
CSU BFA majors Julia Manley and Bradley Niedt are presenting a drawing exhibition at the GNU Gallery Experience. Manley’s pieces focus on domestic interiors, uneasiness and distortion. She used water color, pen and ink, charcoal and wallpaper on drywall to represent typical yet warped domestic scenes. Niedt used repetitious lines, geometry and organic marks to represent the metaphysical and otherworldly. There will be a reception Wednesday, May 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.
What: Dead Floyd
Where: Aggie Theater
When: Friday, May 10th at 8 p.m.
Dead Floyd with Mama Lenny and the Remedy and The Echo Chamber are going to be playing at what they call one of their “favorite venues,” according to their Facebook page. Dead Floyd also said the band has “plenty of surprises planned for the evening including some new merch.”

What: Futaba Free Show
Where: Aggie Theater
When: Saturday, May 11 at 8 p.m.
Cost: Free, $5 to those under 21
Nebraska and Wyoming are pretty boring, so it figures Futaba drummer and guitarist would quit their respective states to come play in Colorado. They describe themselves as “funky” and “jazzy,” so if those are words that appeal to you this is probably your show. And if you’re not really sure? It’s free! Unless you’re under 21, in which case you can hear their sound at www.myspace.com/futabamusic.
What: FoCo Girls Gone Derby Psycho Sirens vs. Cinder’hellas
Where: Qdoba Events Center
When: May 18
FoCo Girls Gone Derby is Northern Colorado’s first roller derby league. These badass roller derby girls are definitely worth the $10 and the slight drive — frankly, you could walk there. If you can’t suck it up to get there, I don’t know if derby is for you; the hip-checks, bruises, and trash talk are all real. So come cheer on your favorite team and watch these people play hard.
